Community Loan Fund South East

The Community Loan Fund for the South East was launched in November 2003, with the aim of overcoming the funding gap often experienced social enterprise. Loan finance is provided to not-for-profit community organisations. Details of this fund can be obtained from:

Community Development Finance Institutions: CDFIs

CDFIs are sustainable, independent organisations which provide financial services with two aims: to generate social and financial returns. They supply capital and business support to individuals and organisations whose purpose is to create wealth in disadvantaged communities or under served marketshe competitiveness of social enterprises in the South East and small and medium.

South Coast Money Line:

South Coast Money Line (SCML) provides personal and business loans for residents of  Portsmouth, Gosport, Havant, Southampton, Totton, Hythe and Eastleigh.

Capitalise Business Support:

Capitalise Business Support provides an alternative to mainstream banks for people with a good business or social enterprise proposition who have had their application declined because they failed to meet their bank's lending criteria. Loans of up to £25,000 repayable over 6-60 months are available in Sussex, Kent and Surrey.

Community Development Finance Association (cdfa)

The cdfa is the UK trade association for Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs). CDFIs are sustainable, independent financial institutions that provide capital and support to enable individuals or organisations to develop and create wealth in disadvantaged communities or under-served markets.

The cdfa's mission is to support the development of a thriving and sustainable community development finance (CDFI) sector that provides finance for disadvantaged and underserved communities and, as a consequence, contribute to the increasing prosperity of these communities.
